USDA is now accepting applications for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program. The program was designed to provide financial assistance to producers of agricultural commodities who have suffered a five-percent-or-greater price decline or who had losses due to market supply chain disruptions due to COVID-19.
Commodities that are covered in the program are non-specialty crops, wool, livestock, dairy, and specialty crops.
For dairy production, you will need production totals from the months of January, February, and March. Please contact field staff or the office phone at 608-325-4549 if you need a report on those production totals.
Producers can sign up for the program until August 28, 2020! Currently, Farm Service Agencies are closed to the public so producers can sign up for the program by making a phone appointment or using the CFAP Payment Calculator that can generate the documentation needed for the application process. Links are below to guide producers in the right direction in terms of more information, calculator, and video on how to input data for the calculator.
